TIME of the SEASON Spring 2024 Edition: The DUKE of DEATH and His MAID SEASON 3

So……I know I usually say that I cover sequel seasons in one whole blog but this season, there are mostly shows that I might just go for the dub only.

For example, I haven’t covered Laid-Back Camp S3 because since S2’s dub is airing now, I know after that ends, the dub for the 3rd season will premiere and to be fair, while I think that show is good, it’s one where I can just wait for the dub.

Same can be said for shows like That Time I Got Reincarnated into a Slime, Konosuba s3 and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation S2P2 (minus the ‘good’ part. That show is just ‘meh’ but I rather watch it dubbed than subbed). The Irregular At Magic High Schooll & The Misfit of Demon King Academy S2P2 is 50/50 with me although it’s just for the dub and only that and since MHA premieres in May and they’re only doing recap episodes, there’s no reason to do a sequels post this season.

So, I’m going to just do it on this show and this show only but hey, this is a returning show of a series I love and hope to see its epic conclusion or at least a happy ending.

This is The Duke of Death and His Maid Season 3.

In case you forgot the plot of this: As a child, a young Duke was cursed by a witch, making it so he would kill anything he came into direct contact with. He was shunned by his family and forced to live in a separate estate with one butler named Rob and a young maid named Alice. Despite never being allowed to hold each other, Alice and the Duke develop a strong relationship, resolving himself to break the curse to live a life with her. Such a task will not be easy, but through the friends these two have made in the human, witch, and wizard world, the possibility of breaking this curse only grows stronger with each passing day. After leveling up their magic and realizing that Alice’s mother had broken her curse, will our Duke finally get the happy life he deserves?

Furthering Thoughts: The show picks off where the finale of s2 left off where we see our extended cast being taught magic and it’s their usual goofy and charming selves and of course, they have their school anthem played twice in there. We do get the focus back to the Duke and Alice and also Alice’s Mom being alive again and we get the usual cuteness between the two and with the mom being there, the Duke proclaims that he will be true to Alice and yeah, it’s touching and lovely. Look, you know I’m going to put in into the CONTINUE WEEKLY pile. The show still manages to be both entertaining and touching and tells a magnificent tale with a tragic twist that we hope gets solved.

Also, when with the CG being… that, it’s not enough to put me off the show.

Oh, and this is the first time that I’m watching a show that I watch in sub on Crunchyroll and in dub at Funimation.com and with the latter gone…. yup, it’s back to switching dub and sub. Oh boy…

I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and if he does finally get that curse removed, just kiss the girl and do whatever y’all want to your content.
