So, Spring season is here and once again, we got the sequels all stacked and ready for everyone to talk about and once again, I’m putting them all in one post because I rather cover them all here and most really don’t require much to talk about aside from my thoughts.
I know there’s the 2nd season of Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun is airing later on but I’m going to wait on the dub… if there’s going to be one which I hope it does.
Yeah, that should cover it all. Now let’s begin with the early starter of the season……
MY HERO ACADEMIA Season 5 // BONES // Funimation
Fifth season, here we go!! And wow, it’s been about 5 years since we knew this anime and every season it aired, I have been enjoying it so much and it’s pretty much going to repeat here. Yes, the first episode is slightly a recap although it doesn’t feel like one with the show practice run of re-introducing Class 1-A once again and then we do go into Hawks investigating into the League of Villains and the big Class 1-A vs. 1-B arc and given this has been picking up a lot of anticipation and I’m kinda excited to see how this goes. Hell, I said it before, this show feels like a Saturday Morning cartoon but slightly more progressive than those. You bet your ass I’m watching this first thing as it comes on.
MEGALO BOX 2: NOMAD // TMS // Funimation
Well, we go from hopeful to depressing as fuck because, wow, as this starts out, Joe is just all the round fucked up. No sight of Nanbu or Sachio and my guess is the former may not be living anymore and his career probably hasn’t been the same since. However, I do like where the direction is going and I’m curious to know what happened in between those years of him winning the championship and well, this. Also, I dig the music in here going for a Spanish Western flair. Yeah, I loved the hip-hop ecstatic from the first series and the OP and ED songs from last season were my favorite anime songs from that year but this one will be growers to me. Of course…..
MISS KOBAYASHI’S DRAGON MAID S SHORT ATTENTION SERIES // Kyoto Animation // Crunchyroll
Yeah, this is going to be hard to talk about considering what happened to KyoAni a couple of years ago and the original director passed away due to that KyoAni fire and also that this is more of a web short and it’s a shortened version of what I saw in the first series. It’s cute, cray cray and last about 1 minute and some change. It’s alright. I wouldn’t rush to watch it first thing.
ZOMBIELAND SAGA REVENGE // MAPPA // Crunchyroll/Funimation
Hey, the only idol show I ever watched it back for another season and this was a weird place to start the season and everyone seems to be at a low place, particularly the manager Kotaro, who seems to lost his heart in the game. Granted, the first episode isn’t all that grandiose, it’s more of re-establishing the characters and the setting and that’s fine and all, but not exactly a high starter.
HOW NOT TO SUMMON A DEMON LORD OMEGA // Tezuka Pro/Okuruto Noburu // Crunchyroll
I remember at first I thought this would be some bullshit fanservice shit and while it’s not the best show or inherently bad, it has some charm to it although you can’t really recommend this to a lot of people and it looks like they are going into some isekai shenanigans with this one girl thinking Diablo is some sort of God even though in actuality, he’s just some guy that got lucky having a harem on his side and while I’m not expecting high-tier art, this is basically some cheesecake material and fuck it, I could go for some cheesecake.
And you know what? I’m wrapping it up for this season. I already got up close to twenty shows although I’m putting something like So I’m a Spider, So What? as stalled as I’m only following the dub at this point and I’m looking at shows in dub like Wonder Egg Priority, Quintessential Quintuplets, Re:Zero S2.5 and of course, some Netflix stuff I missed. Again, I can’t wait for Yasuke.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and off topic but I got my shot…. well, part 1 of my shot.
