A couple of years ago, this man brought you Devilman Crybaby and boy, that show was a trip. Probably one of the best shows that I never want to watch again.
But hey, he got something new-new coming at us today.
This is Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!!
Director: Masaaki Yuasa
Original creator: Sumito Ōwara
Character Design: Naoyuki Asano
Animation Production: Science SARU
Internet Streaming: Crunchyroll
Plot Summary: Midori, Tsubame, and Sayaka are an energetic trio of first-year high school girls who come together in the Eizouken (Video Research Club) to turn their anime dreams into a reality. Midori is nervous to create an anime alone. She meets Tsubame who appears to be a well-to-do girl but she really has artistic dreams of being an animator. Midori’s best friend Sayaka has the financial sense to bring the project to fruition and joins the pair on their quest.
First Thoughts: Well, so far, this blows any new anime episode out of the way. While I have been on and off with anything with Yuasa in the past, this easily got my impression wanting to continue on with this show. Off the first episode, I like the characters right off the bat and like their ambitious dreams of making it as an animator in the anime world although you got one girl, Sayaka, who has some ambition in the financial sense but she’s still a team player in this. Midori and Tsubame got the best ambition out of the trio following their dreams, with the latter also having the whole ‘my parents won’t let me but fuck it, I’m doing it anyway’ way of hers. I like each character’s expressions of them, the animation screams pure Yuasa and yeah, I want to keep on watching this.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and…. eheh, that trap door scene was pretty funny.
