You damn right I’m talking about this.
After the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.
Well, we know all about what happened in the last Avengers and…..well, damn. Half of the world has been Thanos’d and…. well, you expect there’s going to be that instant action, let’s get ’em type of shit, right? Nah….. there’s more to that coming in this movie and man….. it gets heavy. From dealing with the loss of their defeat with Thanos and people that they got dusted, there is a lot of emotions to go through with these characters. Now I could say something else but everything else would be spoiler territory and I’m not trying to spoil anything from this movie because this movie is damn great!!!
This has all the right emotions going into this with its humorous moments to the big action scenes that you’ve been wanting to see to cap off this decade-long saga and how the pay-off is going to be and the transition into the future Marvel movies and by future, I mean, the one coming later in the summer and oh, boy, there’s going to be some shit to digest following this movie.
The acting is all around great with some of the highlights going to Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark, Chris Evans’ Captain America & even Karen Gillan’s Nebula. Some moments from Paul Rudd, Chris Hemsworth and Don Cheadle worked for me but hell, this is much an ensemble piece and everybody did their part here. The action can leave you breathless and to me, that is a sign that the movie’s action scenes are worth looking into and when those scenes happen, I was gleeing my ass off. The character development throughout the movie will also get you through the emotions during the run time with the remaining Avengers and the PTSD they’re going through is even a better highlight than the action. I love the action, don’t get me wrong but those moments throughout made it fully great to me.
This truly felt like a finale to the MCU or at least an Avengers series finale because the MCU isn’t stopping any time soon. It had every emotion going to 100 from laughter, shedding a tear a bit and wanting them to kick Thanos’ ass up and down. Hell, maybe I did wanted that Antman/Thanos thing to happen……but then I thought about that again and there’s no way that’s going to actually happen.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and…..oh, and those 3 hours go by pretty fast. Maybe y’all do got weak bladders.
