TIME of the SEASON Winter 2019 Edition: GIRLY Air FORCE

So……this is a show that sounds like it would be a decent watch and yet…… well, I’ll get to that in a few.

This is Girly Air Force.

Director: Katsumi Ono

Series Composition: Shingo Nagai

Original creator: Kōji Natsumi

Chief Animation Director: Tōru Imanishi

Mechanical design: Hiroyuki Taiga

Animation Production: Satelight

Internet Streaming: Crunchyroll

Plot Summary: Mysterious flying creatures known as Zai suddenly appear, and in order to fight the creatures, mankind creates fighter aircraft called “Daughters,” as well as the automatic fighting mechanism “Anima,” which are shaped like human girls. The story centers on a young man named Kei Narutani, who yearns to fly in the sky, and an Anima considered to be humanity’s trump card, a girl name Gripen.

First Thoughts: OK, I admit I thought it was going to be some cheesy fun with this but the first episode doesn’t leave me much to be desired. This is just cheesy and lame from the battles that looked a little dodgy with the CG and 3D effects. The main character Kei is a stiff lead and Minghua is that childhood friend type that often fights with the lead but you know she cares for him and all that shit and… yeah, the three girls you see on the poster…. well, one of them is introduced earlier and the rest, that’s until the next episode and I hope so because I rather the focus be on them than the bland male lead.

GIVING IT 3 episodes…..

I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and I thought this was a Chinese co-production judging by the animation

  1. I’m putting trying this one on hold. While it doesn’t look terrible I’m just not in the mood for it at the moment so unless I drop a lot of other stuff I’ll probably pass on this one.
