*looks up what kamuy means*
“a spiritual or divine being in Ainu mythology, a term denoting a supernatural entity composed of or possessing spiritual energy” Ah! OK, that makes sense now.
What? I didn’t know what the word meant. It sounded like something from a sentai/Power Rangers show but hey, the more you know, right?
This is Golden Kamuy.

Plot Summary: In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush on the wild frontier of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it. Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.
First Thoughts: So into Geno Studio’s second TV anime, straight after Kokkoku and I can say that this one got an interesting premise behind it and the main character always manages to get lucky with any and everything that attacks him. It’s a gold rush anime…actually, has there ever been an anime centered on something like a gold rush? If there’s one fault with this….this CG is not good. I mean, it’s not Berserk 2016 level bad…or the new Fist of the North Star level bad but the shit isn’t pretty to look at.
However, I’m looking forward to see how this’ll turn out. I like the characters fine enough and it’s perfectly violent without over-indulging on itself.
STRAIGHT UP CONTINUE!!
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and he is really going to carry a dead body for the whole show. You know they can rot and stank as shit, right?
