Time of the SEASON Spring 2018 Edition: CALIGULA

Um, if you thought this was going to be the anime version of that 1979 movie with Malcolm McDowell (yes, I looked it up), then you are in for some disappointment.

You will wonder what the hell is going on.

This is Caligula.

Plot Summary: Tadashi Satomi is a virtual idol known as μ who performs user-inputted songs and gains self-awareness through exposure to users’ bitter feelings and dissatisfaction toward reality. Wanting to save humanity — which she believes is continuously suffering — she lures people to a virtual reality world called Mobius with her songs. She then imprisons them in Mobius, thinking they will be free from the suffering of reality and that all their wishes will come true. Nine members of the “Going Home Club,” a club that was formed because the characters want to escape from Mobius and go home, try to find a way out.

First Thoughts: Wait, so there’s an idol that can get into your conscious and distort reality to you and lures people into a place where they think they are free but they’re fucked anyway. From the synopsis, this is now turning to be a “find a way out of there but yeah, people are going to get killed anyway” type of show and……yeah, that’s it. This first episode was just set-up for what’s bound to happen next although some scenes felt random like that one guy just fighting some people but the glitching sequences did have some effect to me. But yeah, looks like another Sunday watch for me.

I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and how do people make that weird “μ” letter?
