Time of the SEASON Spring 2018 Edition: SWORD Art ONLINE: Alternative GUN Gale ONLINE

Yeah……you read the title right and I have said before that this particular series is one of the worst pieces of anime I’ve watched in my time of watching and reviewing anime and I meant every word of it. But you ask……why am I covering this one?

Well, Reki Kawahara is not involved in writing the original source. That is actually from Keiichi Sigsawa, the guy that wrote Kino’s Journey and having like the series (well, I liked the new one but I heard good things about the OG anime), I got some hope about it. Then going from A-1 to 3HZ, the studio that made the acclaimed Flip Flappers and best of all (at least to me), there’s no Kirito. Maybe this character might be compelling to follow through and not just some OP insert that gets all the girls. Actually, our main lead here is a girl so there you go.

This is Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.

Plot Summary: Karen Kohiruimaki is a 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) college student who’s insecure her height, and is bad at dealing with people in the real world. She enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her avatar, Llenn, who is less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and wears all pink. She meets a beautiful, brown-skinned female player who goes by Pitohui. They hit it off, but one day Pitohui pressures her to participate in “Squad Jam,” a team Battle Royale variation of the Bullet of Bullets tournament.

First Thoughts: You motherfuckers……I don’t believe this…….this is an decent start to the series. Yeah, I’m actually liking what I saw in the first episode. Granted, the past SAO animes had decent starters but then they went downhill from there. Now in here, they got some good strategic playing with our leads LLENN and M-M and I dig the communication and it had some chuckle moments like LLENN is actually being used as a decoy although she was put into danger and all that careful strategic thinking did paid off in the end. Now, the person behind the avatar Karen…..we don’t get into her until the 2nd ep but already, this single episode was better than all of SAO s1 and s2 episodes combined. I just hope this spin-off doesn’t fuck up like it’s cousin series.

I’m giving it a CONTINUE but this show better hope it’s stay to be an actual good-to-decent series.

I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and no, I’m not watching SAO s3 after this.
