Plot Summary: Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity’s freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues.
First Thoughts: 4 years later, this show has not missed a step in its presentation and execution of the world still engulfed with titans and for this starter episode of the second season (and yes, I’m fine with it being 12 episodes BTW) is still a great way to kick off the season with 1/3 having Hange being as funny and badass as she is (and still my favorite character); the other 1/3 with Connie and Sasha having some serious highlights of the episode considering these two are more known as light comedic characters and the last 1/3 is a flashback with Eren, Mikasa and Armin. This is still a fun popcorn anime with a lot of badass action with great Titan designs and one moment in the show that I’m sure manga fans will know that I’m not going to spoil that got me going, “Wait, huh, WTF!?” and a final moment in the show that was really all fucked up but it was in subtle way.
However, that opening theme does feel bland as hell and the ED sounds like something out of a surreal slice-of-life show.
But, this is still worth watching on the weekend so CONTINUE WEEKLY on a High Priority.
Yeah, the two biggest shows of the season managed to be worth watching.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and *watches that ending* HOLY SHIT!!
