If you keep track of what’s going on with Cartoon Network as of recently, you know shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show and The Amazing World of Gumball (I think??) are ending soon and it seems like they could be shopping for something new (er) in the network and yet this particular title has caught people’s eyes and ears.
Well, this is more of a pilot. It is called Infinity Train.
Infinity Train is brought from us by Owen Dennis, a writer and story-boarder from Regular Show and the pilot centers on a young girl named Tulip that must learn to set her personal interests aside to make her way through a mysterious train and help the king of all corgis save his people.
Now since this is only a 8 minute pilot, from what I got of it……this has potential. A lot of potential to become one of the next best things to Cartoon Network and considering I mentioned those aforementioned shows ending and one of them came from that show, it could be like an Adventure Time-type situation. You know, one of the writers left to create their own show and that ends up having a large fan base, especially into the older audiences i.e. nerds like you….and me, too.
Anyway, for the pilot, I liked the overall mysterious atmosphere of what’s going on with this girl Tulip having a number on her hand, representing a clue of what she’s supposed to find on this train (this long-ass train) and what more clues and surrounds awaits her. Humor of it was overall good and can appeal to kids and adults with some slight edges to either demographic (Fart car……yeah, that’s a real thing here…….) and if you love corgis, then you’ll like watching this.
As for the main character Tulip, yeah, there’s isn’t much about her you can sense except that she’s trying to get through this train so she can go home. Then again, 8-minute pilot….of course, that’s going to happen but if this show is picked up for a series run, then we’ll know more about her past and character. If she’s likable on the other hand…..well, yeah. I never felt an annoying presence of her or anything like that and she’s portrayed well by Ashley Johnson (Ellie from The Last of Us, Terra from Teen Titans).
VERDICT: Yeah, there’s not much left to say except we can see the potential of this becoming a full-fledged CN series from the settings, the adventurous and mysterious atmosphere and the wonders of what could happen next as it goes.
*looks into my hand and see the number…..*
Yeah, bring more of this please.
But then again, it’ll be better if I also did this…..
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid, and I wonder if there’s a pizza car on that train.
