Hello and welcome back to We Bare-cap Bears!
And look, this week’s episode is an Ice Bear episode…..a baby Ice Bear episode with someone in there named Yuri.
Is this related to Yuri on Ice? Or at least, one of the characters named Yuri……we’ll check and see about that.
While living alone in the arctic, baby Ice Bear meets a mysterious man who helps him survive the frigid environment.
So anyway, we see a little baby ice Bear wandering in the tundra looking for whatever and found a tent with some food but someone came back, caught him under bed and tried to kill him but couldn’t for some reason. Instead, the mysterious man named Yuri could him if he want some food, he’s going to have to work for it from chopping up wood, straightening stuff around the tent, etc just don’t look into his chest. (No, not that chest, fool! Treasure chest.)
Eventually, Ice Bear does open the chest and sees a pic of what looks like to be his family (a wife and daughter) and also sees the daughter holding some wooden horse statue things. So, as some time pass, Ice Bear decides to make some of those wooden horse statue things. Yuri wonder how he made those, he show him the picture and he was mad at him, chasing him out of the tent but Ice Bear was caught by a bear trap and the other hunters pursuing him earlier went in to capture him.
Yuri didn’t want to see that go down so he freed up but had to escape the hunters from getting Ice Bear but his ride broke down and they were close to the sea and cornered so Yuri had to get his axe and cut Ice Bear loose and him along with his axe drift away into the sea and who knows what further adventures wait for Ice Bear.
FINAL VERDICT: Yeah, we got ourselves another emotional tear jerker of an episode here and it’s definitely what the show really does best only this is definitely more into the drama territory considering there isn’t much comedy aspects in the episode and while some parts like the photographs of Yuri’s family (?) are a bit vague, they do still do carry their weight in context of the episode and it also does explain the characteristics of Ice Bear as a character. I’ll bet sooner or later an origin episode of how the brothers meet might come to fruition soon enough.
For now, it’s an episode I definitely go back for re-watching.
And that is it for me on this recap.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid, bringing all the icy elements in one tent.
