Plot Summary: In 1939, the imperialist nation of Germania launched a sudden invasion of its neighboring countries. This conflagration engulfed all of Europe in one fell swoop, and the era was dragged into the maelstrom of war. Then in 1940, Germania set its sights on Elystadt, a tiny principality blessed with breathtaking greenery and water in the Alps. Izetta is a descendant of a clan of witches who had passed down mysterious powers for generations. Since she was little, she and her grandmother lived their lives on the road, traveling between European countries in order to hide these powers. Fiine is the sole daughter in line to succeed Rudolph III, the ruler of the Principality of Elystadt. Since her father has been stricken by illness, she has been busy preparing for Germania’s invasion in his stead.
First Thoughts: So this is a historical fiction fantasy anime that has a espionage twist in it? OK, I might be on board with this for longer than the initial 3 episodes and by the end of it…..I actually do care to see more of this. Of course, the writer is what got everyone talking as it is Hiroyuki Yoshino, the guy who wrote Code Geass and Guilty Crown…..although I see why people are concerned about that. So far, it runs well on an adventurous vibe from the earlier train escape sequence to the later plane battle and finding Izetta in there. Many noticed a yuri feeling upon the two main characters and as long as it is written well…..I’m for it.
So yeah, this is a MEDIUM-HIGH PRIORITY watch. Yeah, it looks decent enough for watch once a week.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid and ….really, Germania? For real, tho?
