You know what? I might need something adorable to watch this summer and something that is actually innocent and light-hearted and actually cute and–
OK, besides that. (For real, Bananya is a short-form anime with 3 minutes per episode. You like cutesy stuff? Here you go. WATCH. That’s my first impression of that out of the way.)
Anyway, here is Sweetness and Lightning.

Plot Summary: Math teacher Kōhei Inuzuka is a widower with a young daughter named Tsumugi. Inuzuka isn’t adept in the kitchen but with the help of his student Kotori Iida and his daughter, he embarks on a culinary adventure.
First Thoughts: Honestly, the show’s title is very accurate. I was immediately struck with the show’s sweet and innocent nature especially with the relationship between Kohei and Tsumugi. The bond between them felt genuine and loving and a lot of heart to it. Plus, you can’t help but feel for these people with the main guy Kohei being a widower and does highlight that especially when Tsumugi mentions her. At first I didn’t see why people are anticipating this. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great first impression and it’s good so far but not actually to a high echelon. But who knows? It could be once it ends. Also TMS Entertainment has been on fire with anime this season. Usually they don’t make much of a presence but now……yeah.
So in other words, this is a CONTINUE on a MEDIUM-to-HIGH level.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid, striking you with this sweet…..impression.
