Plot Summary: Mankind has developed superpowers known as “Quirks” with 80% of the population having some kind of superpower. These new abilities see the rise of both superheroes and villains. A prestigious school known as the The Hero Academy trains super powered hopefuls into the heroes the world needs.
Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he’s part the 20% without a Quirk. Unwilling to give up his dream, he plans to take the exam and be accepted into a high school for budding heroes. Through a series of serendipitous events, he catches the eye of the greatest hero, All Might, who agrees to train him.
First Thoughts: Welp, we got an effective first episode regarding our main character Izuku and introducing us to their world of heroes especially the main one that Izuku always admire, All Might. It has a quirky and amusing tone going in being at awe of watching these heroes in action and then we go to Izuku, who really wants to be a superhero so bad but of course most people think he can’t do it since he’s part of the 20% that doesn’t have a quirk. He has the classic shonen trait of him not giving up and willing to follow his dream through and through but you do hope he eventually gets his powers, especially since this is a 13-episode show. No, I don’t know if there is going to be a season 2 so don’t ask.
Yeah, you know what rating I’m going to give this one. It’s a straight up CONTINUE.
Already, Spring 2016, you have proven to be worthy in my eyes and while I don’t want to jinx things, I’m loving it.
I’m MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid, here’s hoping this show is plenty good.
