So like me with comic-book movies, I do tend to watch a lot of anime adaptations of video game titles like your Persona 4 The Animation or your Hyperdimension Neptunia…..yet like comic-book movies, I know little to jack shit about the source material.

And now we got another one in our hands….the popular Capcom video game series Ace Attorney.
(I know it’s called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney but we all know the Japanese used their original origin character names)

Plot Summary:
Adapted from the popular video game franchise, Ace Attorney follows rookie lawyer Naruhodou Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright) and his assistant Mayoi (Maya) as he defends his clients in a court of law. With limited evidence and logic as his only weapon, can Naruhodou turn the case around when all the odds are stacked against him?

First Thoughts: Not bad. Not bad at all. First episode was a lot of fun from the case they got in the opener showing what Naruhodou (or Phoenix if you want it that way) can do in the court in those entertaining and overwhelming ways, especially when he does his most famous line…”OBJECTION!”
Which…..do I have any so far? Well, not much. I did notice the animation was a bit limited but it was used in a good way and the visuals were decent at best but coming from A-1 Pictures and from what we saw in the next episode PV…..I know some fans of that are going “Huh? No!! I liked [bleep bleep]!”
Also, I think those who have not that much knowledge of the games liking this a little. Oh, and there’s an alternative English sub version where they actually say Phoenix Wright and got the localized names on there.

Overall, I would easily CONTINUE with this. I do see a lot of entertainment from this show and hopefully it’ll do the fans justice on this.

This is Blue Hybrid, Ace Anime Reviewer saying ‘OBJECTION’…..although the show is good so far.
