WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK! WELCOME BACK!!!!!!
Time of the Season is back once again for a 3rd year and we’re going to keep on looking at the seasonal anime coming to you this season. 2015 has been an exceptional year of anime bringing us surprises like Blood Blockade Battlefront & Monster Musume and hits like One Punch Man, My Love Story & Death Parade but unfortunately we still got dog shit like Seraph (yes, I still think Seraph is awful), God Eater, & The Asterisk War but that’s the fun in reviewing anime. The bad shit will always make us appreciate the shows we already love even more and now that we are in 2016, we hope to continue bringing those type of anime to the States (more of the good shit, that is).
And let’s see what’s the first show of the day is….
What the fuck is this?
*looks up info*
Oh, it’s based on a light novel……fuck….oh, and it’s from an overrated studio known as KYOTO ANIMATION or KyoAni for short.
Welp, I started last year with something from an overrated director (Sorry, Ikuhara fans. He is not that great of a director or writer.) and now something from an overrated and tired studio.
This is Myriad Colors Phantom World.

Plot Summary: In the near future, in a world born of human imagination, what humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called “phantoms.” Haruhiko Ichijō, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability “Spirit of Five Elements,” Reina Izumi, who has the ability “Phantom Eater,” and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.
First Thoughts: Wow……..I was right and wrong in some ways pre-judging this anime. Yeah, this is a light novel anime alright from the long-winded exposition to the character archetypes that were just plain boring and we know by the poster, the main guy is going to have a harem of girls at the end although it was funny that he’s not some mighty powerful OP character like Kirito and what-his-face from Asterisk. Some of the gags we saw coming but then they tried to make it clever but it felt like a tired joke over and over.
Oh, and yes, I know KyoAni animated this and it looks all pretty and shit but right now, let’s face it. They all LOOK THE SAME (with some few exceptions) and it’s basically the same gaudy-ass animation as before.
If this was done by a different studio, y’all would drop it by episode 3 but it’s KyoAni and otaku love that shit but guess what? I’m not falling for it.
This show is ON CAUTION WATCH as far as I’m concerned because it looks like another bad show for them in the making.
Oh, and KyoAni is now only good for making shows with moe girls you want to……well, you know.
This is MAK2.0 aka The Blue Hybrid, saying people are going to shit on me for shittalking KyoAni, aren’t they?
