Plot Summary: The Yatterman took control of the Dorombo Gang after a long fight, but the Yatterman Kingdom they created is not at peace. The kingdom is impoverished, and the people lament their tyrannical government. Standing against them is Leopard, a descendent of Yatterman’s defeated rivals. She inherits the name Doronjo and becomes her successor, entering the Yatterman Kingdom with the intent of taken on the despised Yatterman.
First Thoughts: It seems that Tatsunoko has been resurrecting their properties as of recently with Gatchaman Crowds in 2013 and its upcoming sequel later on this year and now we have a brand new Yatterman for the new age in time for the 40th anniversary of the Time Bokan franchise and like its other franchise, it doesn’t require you to watch past iterations.
The show, so far, has its witty moments once the main character Leopard teams up with Voltkatze & Elephantus to stand up to the Yatterman yet the dramatic components of the show are probably the most challenging highlight of the show that sometimes when it clashes with the comedy, it does become jarring and often depressing at some parts. However, the show does a lot of heart going for it and I can see it heading down the right path in the future…..that is, if things go right for the part being.
So yeah, this show is another watchable show for the season and another franchise from Tatsunoko that I’m delving into. I’ll give it a CONTINUE WEEKLY.
And that is it for TIME OF THE SEASON for Winter 2015. As usual, this will come back at the end of March to give you my closing thoughts on the shows I chose whether if they were good, bad, or meh. And as always….
I’m MAK2.0 aka the Blue Hybrid, bringing all the elements in one format.
